1. Great Lakes Burning River Pale Ale -
Great Lakes Brewing
This pale ale poured a rich copper color, with a foamy two finger
head that slowly reduced to one finger and retained lacing. It has a
really nice earthy, herbal and flowery kind of hop smell with a hint
of mixed citrus rind. Roasted malt smell is also faintly present.
The taste is rich with hops, hints of spice and tea, and with a dry,
lightly smoky, and a somewhat bitter finish. It is quite smooth for
American Pale Ale, with a nice kick at 6% alcohol.
2. Firestone Pale Ale - Firestone Brewing Co.
This pale ale offers a rich, crisply hopped character with a medium
malt profile. Nuances of toffee and vanilla unfold across a bright,
clean texture. Dry hopping establishes an assertive American hop
aroma and flavor. Stone Pale Ale is our Southern California
interpretation of the classic British pale ale style. Deep amber in
color, Stone Pale Ale is robust and full flavored. A delicate hop
aroma is complemented by a rich maltiness. This is an ale for those
who have learned to appreciate distinctive flavor.Alc.Vol.: 5.4%

4. Great Divide Denver Pale Ale
- Great Divide Brewing
Sporting a brilliant copper hue and an assertive floral hop aroma,
DPA is known for its smooth, malty middle, which is expertly
complemented with hearty and complex hop flavor. DPA’s extraordinary
hop finish is marked by crisp yet moderate hop bitterness. Its
well-balanced profile makes DPA the perfect beer to accompany a
hearty mountain picnic or a night on the town.
5. Tuppers Hop Pocket Ale - Old Dominion Brewing Co.
Tuppers' Hop Pocket Ale is full-bodied and very hoppy (about 60
IBU's). It is dry hopped with whole leaf Mount Hood and Cascade hops
and krausened (fermented) in the keg and bottle. This ale is
designed by skilled beer drinkers for experienced beer drinkers.
Tuppers' Hop Pocket Ale won a gold medal at the Great American Beer
Festival in 1997.
6. Three Floyds Alpha King - Three Floyds Brewing
Colour is dark amber, some ruby notes, clear with little head.
Lovely, fruity nose with a burst of fresh hops, citrus (grapefruit)
and some chocolate. Fruity taste with notes of grapefruit, fresh
hops, chocolate and even some dark cherries. Slightly nutty. Long,
hoppy, bitter finish. Some initial sweetness, but turns drier
towards the finish. Beautiful balance between malt, fruit an hops.
Brilliant!
7. Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale - Deschutes Brewery
The quintessential American pale ale, Mirror Pond elegantly blends
the sweetness of malted barley with the bite of hops (which add
bitterness and aroma). It's refreshing, loaded with strong hop
flavors, and perfectly balanced. Gold Medal, Great American Beer
Festival.
8. Anchor Liberty Ale - Anchor Brewing Company
A special top-fermenting ale yeast is used during fermentation and
is responsible for many of Liberty Ale's subtle flavors and
characteristics. Carbonation is produced by an entirely natural
process called "bunging," which produces champagne-like bubbles.
Dry-hopping (adding fresh hops to the brew during aging), imparts a
unique aroma to the ale.
9. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale - Sierra Nevada Brewing
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a delightful interpretation of a classic

hop feel to it and a crisp finish. First brewed on April 20th, 1997
this beer has developed quite the following in the Southeast.
